Purchasing and eating freshly grown fruit and vegetables is the best way to ensure no preservatives, chemicals, or dyes have been added to your food.

Produce loses it nutritional value over time, so the longer it takes to get fresh food to the table the more the nutrients decrease. And we all know that vitamins and minerals are essential to our heath, however, are you consuming enough of them? Are you purchasing frozen or 'fresh' fruit and veg from your local supermarket?

Food Colour wheel

'Fresh' produce in our supermarkets can be shipped from far distances, exposed to heat, light that depletes them of their nutrients. For this to happen, the fruits and vegetables are harvested before they are ripe not having time to develop the FULL spectrum of vitamins and minerals.

Frozen vegetables however, are picked when they are fully ripe (in most instances). However, the produce is blanched to remove bacteria and flash-frozen in facilities near the fields to lock in the nutrients. Frozen fruit and veg is a fantastic buy for purchasing for out of season produce.

Getting local 'in season' produce not only means your receiving the freshest produce available it also means your supporting local farmer/business and our economy.

Do you want to support your local farmers?
Do you want your family to consume fresh nutrient filled fruit and vegetables?
